SP1026 Series 30kV TVS Diode Arrays from Littelfuse Help Prevent Equipment Damage from Electrostatic Discharges

Protects mobile phones, smart phones, smart watches, tablets, portable navigation and medical devices

Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has introduced the SP1026 Series 15pF 30kV Bidirectional Discrete TVS Diode Array, designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from damage due to electrostatic discharges (ESD). Zener diodes fabricated using a proprietary silicon avalanche technology protect each I/O pin to provide a high level of protection against ESD. These robust general-purpose diodes can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes at ±30kV (contact discharge, IEC 61000-4-2) without performance degradation. Additionally, each diode can safely dissipate 5A of 8/20μs surge current (IEC61000-4-5) with very low clamping voltages.

Applications for the SP1026 Series include protection of mobile phones, smart phones, smart watches, tablets, portable navigation devices, and portable medical devices.

“The SP1026 Series helps to round out our portfolio of general-purpose ESD protection devices,” said Tim Micun, product manager/TVS Diode Arrays (SPA® Diodes). “Design engineers can be confident that they will find a device that provides a cost-effective solution with a space-efficient design that fits neatly into their increasingly crowded PCB layout.

All SP1026 Series TVS Diodes offer these key benefits:
• Space-efficient ESD protection solution fits into a 0201-size (0.60mm x 0.30-5mm) footprint to save PCB space and reduce costs.
• Low dynamic resistance (1.4Ω) supports the low clamping voltages needed for protecting modern electronics filled with small-geometry ICs.
• Promotes high ESD immunity and superior protection (ESD, IEC 61000-4-2, ±30kV contact, ±30kV air discharge; EFT, IEC 61000-4-4, 40A (5/50ns); Lightning, IEC 61000-4-5 2nd edit, 5A (tP=8/20μs) to permit manufacturers to achieve ESD protection beyond the maximum level stated in the IEC standard and protect against a multitude of other threats to ensure product reliability in the field.

Availability
The SP1026 Series is packaged in a μDFN-2 (0201) package and is provided in tape & reel packaging in quantities of 15,000. Sample requests can be placed through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide. For a listing of Littelfuse distributors, please visit Littelfuse.com.
