Analog Devices Felicitates Winners of Anveshan 2018 University Design Fellowship

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), announced Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, Odisha and Goa Engineering College as the winners of Design Fellowship Program, Anveshan 2018 for their respective projects Ane Cure and PEMA – Power, Energy & Machine Analyzer. The universities were each awarded prize money of INR 2.5 lakhs. The second prize was won by IIT Bombay for its project Non-Invasive Corrosion Detectors for India’s Infrastructure. Anveshan’s focus this year was Make for India, with a goal of building smart and innovative solutions to solve problems in healthcare, agriculture, smart city, Industry 4.0 and smart lifestyle.

This edition of Anveshan provided a platform to create and experiment with innovative technologies such as IoT, sensors, cloud, algorithms, data analytics, etc. Developing breakthrough concepts and algorithms which engineering students can use to design an innovative product that can uplift the standard of living in our society was an integral part of Anveshan 2018. The fellowship received 50 complete proposal registrations from engineering colleges from all over India.

“After the conclusion of our fifth edition of ADI- Anveshan, it’s obvious India has a wonderful talent pool hidden in various parts of the country,” said Sai Krishna Mopuri, Managing Director, ADI. “All participants truly showcased their design thinking and I am amazed to see these young engineers creating solutions that would drive societal change. We saw fantastic ideation addressing issues in healthcare, agriculture, and smart city among others. Since it’s founding, Anveshan has journeyed a long distance and will continue to strive and support our country’s mission toward becoming a forward-thinking nation”, he added.

Here are details about the winning projects this year:

    1. Ane Cure is a low-cost, non-invasive hemoglobin measurement device that detects anemia in patients. The device will use a pre-stored bio-database to analyse and predict the hemoglobin concentration of patients and can read and record the readings of their analysis at a later stage to help treat their condition without losing time. This device can be used by both doctors and patients as well.
    2. PEMA – Power, Energy and Machine Analyser is an integrated low-cost device that can be fitted to transformers at substations that monitor electrical (voltage and current) and mechanical (temperature) parameters. This device can be easily retrofitted to existing equipment to enable real time monitoring of power quality and equipment, thereby digitizing the electric grid.

In order to continue the innovation stride, Analog Devices is proud to announce the opening of registrations for Anveshan 2019. The central theme for Anveshan 2019 is Design the Future. The subcategories are:

    • Healthcare and Lifestyle – Connected people, wireless patient monitoring system, counterfeit drug detection, smart consumer devices.
    • Resource and Energy Management – Renewable energy and smart grids, agricultural produce management, environment monitoring.
    • Industry 4.0 – Smart supply chain, industrial sensing and automation, machine health.
    • Public Safety and Security – Disaster first response, traffic management.
