    Deftronics 2017 in Hyderabad to Promote Self Reliance in Aerospace & Defence

    Premier Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) trade body India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), is preparing to host DEFTRONICS-2017 in Hyderabad, on August 31 and September 1.

    A release issued by the organization stated that the objective of the summit is to strengthen the ecosystem and help participating companies reach out to a wider network; engage with peers on exchanging ideas and discovering new opportunities.

    The two-day event is themed around ‘Accelerating Self-reliance in Aerospace, Defence and Internal Security’.

    “India has been one of the leading spenders in defence for the past few years and continues to have defence imports of USD 5.9 billion, contributing 15 per cent to the total imports of defence products in the world.

    In a media interaction, Anil Muniswamy, vice-chairman of IESA said, “The event is expected to host over 600 delegates from government and the industry.”

    “IESA has recognized this as a great opportunity to continue its effort to build and support the manufacturing ecosystem in the defence space.

    “DEFTRONICS-2017 is focused on providing sessions on the various opportunities in the defence, defence manufacturing, skilling, major programs of defence, etc,” it said.

    “We’re organizing DEFTRONICS for the first time in Hyderabad and the event will focus on aerospace and defence, skilling and capacity building. It will also address several issues on internal security, cyber security, startups and SMEs in the industry,” said BVR Mohan Reddy, founder and executive chairman, Cyient

    Exhibits from around 20 companies including start-ups in aerospace and defence, would be participatimg in the event.
