PMC To Set Up 500 EV Charging Stations

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) plans to set up 500 EV charging stations in the public areas of the city. PMC has also selected locations for the set up of charging stations which includes municipal gardens, educational institutes, and main roads.

PMC has issued tender for the same and private agencies too can bid on the setup. It plans to charge a minimal fee for charging vehicles and the amount earned will be used to maintain the stations.

The implementation of the project will take place on a revenue-sharing basis. Pune Municipal Corporation will provide the required space for private owners to establish the stations and other arrangements can be made by the companies.

Setting up new EV charging stations will boost the adoption of electric vehicles in the city of Pune.
