    IEEMA (Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association) India on 23 January 2017, launched the INTELECT 2017 & DISTRIBUELEC, the three day (23rdJanuary-25th January 2017) exhibition cum conference at the India Expo Center, Greater Noida.

    The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Mr. Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines and Guest of Honor, Shri Girish Shankar
    Secretary, DHI, ministry of heavy Industries & Public enterprises and other key dignitaries such as Mr. Sanjeev Sardana, President, IEEMA, Mr. Prakash Chandrekar, Chairman, Organizing Committee, Mr, Sunil Misra, Director General, IEEMA amidst an august industry gathering.

    The event is supported by the Ministry of Power, National Smart Grid Mission, with Madhya Pradesh as partner state and CESC as partner utilities.

    With over 100 exhibitors, the show has brought together senior officials from Ministry of Power, State Utilities, DISCOMS, IESA, India IOT Panel and TERI under one common platform, to discuss global best practices and seek solutions to some of the most pressing challenges pressing challenges in the field of Intelligent Electricity.

    Speaking on the inaugural of the INTELECT 2017 & DISTRIBUELEC, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines, Mr. Piyush Goyal said, “India’s is world’s largest market for this sector and we have billion people aspiring for better quality of life and have an nascent and latent energy demand which will expand this sector by almost four times in next 15-17 years. Different estimates have been made out but very clear this is one sector where any amount of investment made has the fastest payback both in terms not only in economic terms but also in terms of quality of life of our people but also has a great deal to do with a necessity for the entire economic development of the country for years and years. Smart meter can be a game changer when it comes to planning the electricity sector in the long run”

    Speaking on the inaugural of the INTELECT 2017 & DISTRIBUELEC, IEEMA President, Mr. Sanjeev Sardana said, “The theme for this year’s INTELECT is “Redefining Electricity for Smarter Living” which is quite interesting as it is important to realize the need for intelligent electricity. Management of every watt of electricity from source to socket is essential to fulfill Prime Minister’s dream “24X7 clean and affordable electricity for all” by 2019. The exhibition has been specially designed to demonstrate the New & Intelligent digital solutions, from source to socket, to manage the flow of electricity smartly.”
