560 nm laser by PicoQuant for applications in Life Science

PicoQuant has released a laser head that emits laser pulses at 560 nm. The fiber amplified laser head LDH-P-FA-560 delivers average optical powers of more than 3 mW at a repetition rate of 40 MHhz with pulse widths down to 40 ps. The new laser nicely rounds out PicoQuant’s range of picosecond pulsed laser sources in the yellow-green spectral range. The LDH-P-FA-560 is fully compatible with all laser drivers from PicoQuant’s PDL Series. The collimated free beam output can optionally be coupled into an optical fiber.

The 560 nm light emitted by the LDH-P-FA-560 is optimally suited for exciting molecular probes commonly used in Life Science or Biology, including fluorescent proteins, such as mCherry, RFP, or DsRed as well as dyes like CY3 or Atto565. The characteristics of this new laser head also provide opportunities for applications in bioanalytics, biochemistry, genetics, semiconductor characterization, and quality control.

Laser heads from the LDH and LDH-FA Series are robust, easy to use excitation sources that are well suited for a wide range of time-resolved microscopy and spectroscopy applications, such as fluorescence spectroscopy, Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), or Fluorescence (Lifetime) Correlation Spectroscopy (F(L)CS).
