10th European Short Course on “Time-resolved Microscopy and Correlation Spectroscopy”

The 10th edition of this course, held from March 6-8, 2018 in Berlin was highly appreciated and found to be inspiring by the 40 participants from universities and industry. Six lectures and five hands-on sessions with instruments from major microscopy companies including Nikon, Olympus, PicoQuant, and Zeiss were given. These sessions covered different methods and procedures used in time-resolved fluorescence microscopy such as FLIM / rapidFLIM, FLIM-FRET, F(L)CS, PLIM for material science, single molecule spectroscopy, and STED super-resolution microscopy.

The course was intended for individuals looking for an in-depth introduction to the principles of time-resolved fluorescence microscopy and its applications to Life Sciences. Attendees were typically professionals who employ or intend to use fluorescence microscopy in their research. Most attendees had some preliminary knowledge of fluorescence, typically in a specialized area. However, individuals from totally different research areas and industry got the opportunity to enter this exciting field in a very effective way and greatly benefited from the experimental sessions.
