Mouser Electronics signs Global Distribution Agreement with Fanstel

Mouser Electronics, Inc. announces a global distribution agreement with Fanstel Corporation, developers and manufacturers of Wi-Fi- and Bluetooth-enabled modules. Through the agreement, the Fanstel product line available from Mouser Electronics includes Nordic Semiconductor-based BlueNor and Toshiba-based BlueFan modules.

Fanstel’s BlueNor family devices are powerful, highly flexible, ultra-low-power Bluetooth low energy (BLE) modules that incorporate a Nordic Semiconductor nRF52 system-on-chip (SoC) and an Arm Cortex microcontroller. The BlueNor BT832 Series modules each combine a Nordic nRF52832 SoC and an Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller with 512 Kbytes of flash and 64 Kbytes of RAM. All modules feature 128-bit AES encryption and support NFC-A tag interface for secure out-of-band (OOB) pairing. The BT832, BT832F, and BT832X integrate a PCB trace antenna, while the BT832XE includes a u.FL connector for an external antenna. Both the BT832X and BT832XE modules include a power amplifier, which provides a communication radius of 1170 meters for the BT832X module and 1350 meters for the BT832XE module (when external antenna is connected).

The BlueNor BT832A and BT832AF modules combine a Nordic nRF52810 SoC and an Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller with 192 Kbytes of flash and 24 Kbytes of RAM. The modules integrate a PCB trace antenna, providing an average Bluetooth transmit/receive range of 100 meters for the BT832A module and 270 meters for the BT832AF module.

Fanstel’s BlueNor BT840 devices are ultra-low-power BLE modules that contain of a Nordic nRF52840 SoC and Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller with hardware support for DSP instructions and floating point operations, 1 Mbyte of flash, and 256 Kbytes of RAM. The modules also feature an Arm TrustZone Cryptocell-310 processor, which provides a security subsystem. The BT40F module — which supports Bluetooth protocols (2Mbps, 1Mbps, 500Kbps, and 125Kbps) IEEE 802.15.4 Thread, Zigbee, ANT/ANT+, and 2.4 GHz proprietary protocols — integrates a PCB trace antenna that supports a Bluetooth communications range of 510 meters at 1 Mbps and 930 meters at 125 Kbps.

Fanstel’s BlueFan family devices are based on Toshiba single-chip Bluetooth ICs. The BH661C is a dual-mode Bluetooth 4.2 module with a Toshiba TC35661 SoC. The module features an integrated chip antenna, SPP and GATT profiles, and Host Controller Interface (HCI) protocols and UART interface.
