Current transformers shape up for wind power systems

wind power systemsHarting has announced a range of current transformers with an eye to wind energy system developments.

The window type current transformers can be used to measure the feed from decentralised power generation plants for billing activity with the network operator.

The transformers incorporate a transducer that has a rectangular shape with a cut that is selected so that it fits perfectly onto a DIN rail.

Measuring range from 2,000A to 10,000A, both versions transform the measuring current to 5A at rated current.

The transformer has a specified accuracy class of 0.5 and 0.2 for current measurement over a wide range.

If needed, the transducers can be calibrated from the factory by a nationally recognised testing laboratory in order to make them acceptable for billing purposes.
