Electrolube Brings Thick Aromatic Free Acrylic Coating Range for critical PCB Edges

Electrolube, the established global manufacturer of electro-chemicals, have complemented their successful Aromatic Free Acrylic Coating range with a range extension, entitled AFA-G. The new addition is deliberately more viscous than a standard coating, designed for use as a permanent masking or damming material, either preventing capillary action around components such as connectors, or as a mask between the ‘coat` and ‘no-coat` areas of the PCB.  This product is ideal for critical areas of the PCB where extra thickness of coating may be beneficial.  The acrylic coating works in perfect synergy alongside Electrolube’s other AFA coatings and is ideally suited for covering sharp edges, which may otherwise be missed by less viscous material during the coating process.

The AFA-G coating joins the highly successful AFA range of Aromatic Free conformal coatings, which has been carefully developed without the use of hazardous aromatic solvents, such as Xylene and Toluene, making it less harmful to the environment and the operator. In response to demand for a thicker formulated coating product, the new AFA-G was created as a more viscous version of Electrolube’s highly popular Aromatic Free Acrylic Coating, AFA. The properties of the new acrylic coating product are much the same as the AFA coating range, which includes being free of aromatic solvents, a wide operating temperature range, a UV trace to aid inspection, fast touch-dry time at room temperature, excellent adhesion to most substrates and the provision of outstanding protection against humidity and salt mist.

The RoSH-2 Compliant AFA-G is available in a 35ml syringe with LuerLock-adapter, and can be applied by hand as well as with automatic dispensing equipment. For more information about the new AFA-G and aromatic free coatings range, please visit www.electrolube.com
