    Inductor suits multiphase power supplies

In addition to a 50% reduction in DC resistance (DCR), the Vishay Dale IHSR-4040DZ-51 inductor shrinks profile height by 20% or more over similar ferrite devices. The commercial high-temperature inductor, the first in the IHSR series, also offers a standard DCR tolerance of 5% or 3% for applications requiring more accurate current sensing.

With a frequency range of up to 5 MHz, the IHSR-4040DZ-51 is suitable for use in multiphase, high-current power supplies and filters in computer, industrial, and telecom applications. Its typical DCR of 0.520 mΩ and inductance of 0.130 µH allow for high current density, while its 4-mm profile enables slimmer end products. The inductor provides high-temperature operation up to +155°C and rated current to 92 A.

Housed in a 10×10-mm 4040 case, the IHSR-4040DZ-51 inductor costs $0.65 each in lots of 5000 units. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of 12 weeks for large orders.
