Expanding SWIR Sensing capabilities with new large active area InGaAs PIN photodiodes

Marktech Optoelectronics, Inc., a privately-held, VOSB-certified leading designer and manufacturer of standard and custom optoelectronics components and assemblies, including UV, visible, near-infrared (NIR), and short-wave infrared (SWIR) emitters, detectors, InP epiwafers, and other materials, announced the global market introduction of the Models MTPD1346D-200 and MTPD1346D-300, two unique large active area InGaAs PIN photodiodes, expressly designed for expanded infrared instrumentation and monitoring capabilities.

Marktech’s new Models MTPD1346D-200 and MTPD1346D-300 are available in higher-gain active area sizes of 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm, respectively, joining existing series InGaAs PIN photodiodes with 0.1 to 1.5 mm active areas. All series models feature a 1.7 um cutoff.  In addition, all large active area Marktech InGaAs PIN photodiodes offer increased light sensitivity, uniform response, low dark current, and identical wide spectral response ranges.

Typical applications for Marktech large active area InGaAs PIN photodiodes include spectrometers, thermometers, thru-water detection and chemical analysis. Available accessories for the Models MTPD1346D-200 and MTPD1346D-300 include a full range of SWIR range emitters, all of which can be spectrally and mechanically matched to Marktech InGaAs PIN photodiodes within a single, contact package. Units are also both REACH and RoHS compliant.

Small-to-medium-sized volumes of standard Models MTPD1346D-200 and MTPD1346D-300 are available with 24-hour shipment from stock via Marktech distribution partner, Digi-Key Electronics. In addition, alternate package and sorting options, as well as custom and hybrid designs, may be produced in as few as 6-8 weeks from the point of customer prototype approval.
