Mouser Electronics Empowers Innovation at iMake: Maker Fest

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader that empowers innovation, continues its major sponsorship of the iMake: Maker Fest, a family-friendly festival this weekend, April 1, at the Fort Worth (Texas) Museum of Science and History.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Mouser is sponsoring iMake: Maker Fest, an event for all ages to create, invent, learn, think and be inspired by the creative, engineering-related impulse to make and re-make the everyday objects that shape our future. Attendees can meet talented local makers and learn about the interesting technologies they use, and then join hands-on activities to make their own creations.

The iMake: Maker Fest, inspired by the expanding Maker movement, will include interactive experiences and demonstrations. Mouser is sponsoring an exhibit that will allow makers of all ages to investigate interesting electronic circuitry, giving them an opportunity to build popsicle stick flashlights, motorized structures, and more.

“Mouser has been a part of iMake: Maker Fest since its first year, and we’re excited to see how it has grown,” said Kevin Hess, Mouser’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Events like iMake allow Mouser to show how strongly we support STEM education as well as the Maker movement.”

Mouser teamed up with the museum last month as a major sponsor of Engineers Week 2017, a five-day event that celebrated the importance of engineering education.

Van A. Romans, President of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, praised Mouser as a consistent and proven educational sponsor and partner: “Mouser’s financial and volunteer support and professional insights helps our museum provide these important learning experiences to our guests, particularly our young guests, to inspire invention, creativity and innovation.

All of the iMake: Maker Fest activities are included with paid admission to the museum, located in Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
