Mouser Now Stocking STMicroelectronics’ BlueNRG-2N and BlueNRG-LP Devices

Mouser Electronics is now stocking two new BlueNRG wireless products from STMicroelectronics (ST). The BlueNRG-2N wireless network coprocessor and BlueNRG-LP wireless system-on-chip (SoC) both enable Bluetooth® Low Energy connectivity in applications such as home and industrial automation, smart lighting, fitness and wellness devices, security and mobile phone peripherals.

ST’s BlueNRG-2N device is a Bluetooth 5.0-certified and Bluetooth Low Energy 4.2-compliant wireless network coprocessor that integrates an Arm® Cortex®-M0 core with power management, clocks, Bluetooth low energy radio, random number generator, external microcontroller interface (SPI/UART), and public-key cryptography. The Bluetooth Low Energy stack runs on the embedded Arm core and is stored in the on-chip non-volatile flash memory. Additionally developers can easily upgrade the stack via SPI/UART, as well through the dedicated STMicroelectronics software tools.

The BlueNRG-2N coprocessor helps lower power consumption and adds support for the latest Bluetooth features, which increase data throughput and enhance privacy and security. The device connects to a host controller, allowing design engineers to scale the performance, features, and cost of the host system independently.

ST’s BlueNRG-LP wireless SoC  is an ultra-low power, programmable solution with 2.4 GHz state-of-art RF radio IPs for ultra-low latency applications. The BlueNRG-LP SoC is compliant with Bluetooth Low Energy 5.1, addressing point-to-point connectivity and Bluetooth Mesh networking IPs, while also offering high throughput of 2 Mbps and Long Range features. The SoC includes a 64 MHz Arm Cortex M0+ microcontroller and the BlueNRG core coprocessor (DMA based) for Bluetooth Low Energy timing-critical operations. The BlueNRG-LP offers high-speed and flexible memory types, including 256 kBytes of flash memory and 64 kBytes of RAM.
