The R&S CMW500 is the first test platform on the market to offer both NB-IoT and eMTC protocol conformance tests. Manufacturers and test houses can now use a single instrument to verify that chipsets, modules and devices are standard-compliant.
Enhanced machine type communications (eMTC) und narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) are part of LTE Release 13. Together, they are known as cellular IoT (C-IoT). At the beginning of March, Rohde & Schwarz validated four NB-IoT test cases specified in GCF work item 257, a total of 129 eMTC legacy test cases in GCF work items 81, 82, 150, 177 and 179. As a result, the T&M expert has the largest number of validated protocol conformance test cases for C-IoT. Rohde & Schwarz has extended its test case portfolio for the R&S CMW500 protocol tester and effectively expanded its leading position in protocol conformance testing.
