The all new Bourns Precision Sensor family delivers accurate temp and RH performance in demanding applications

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the Bourns Precision Sensor (BPS) family of environmental sensors based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. The new family of sensors from Bourns includes high-precision pressure and humidity sensors for use in demanding applications such as medical equipment, HVAC equipment, and industrial process control.

The Bourns BPS family, available from Mouser Electronics, includes a series of three pressure sensors for use in sensitive operating conditions. The BPS110 and BPS120 sensors offer accurate sensing in an ultra-low pressure range of 0.15 psi to 1.0 psi, and a stable 1.5-percent full scale total error band (FS TEB) over a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees C. Boasting calibrated pressure ranges to a depth of 1 in. (2.54 cm) of water, the BPS110 and BPS120 sensors feature fully calibrated and compensated output to enable more efficient processes.

The BPS130 sensor delivers precision performance in high-temperature applications, with an operating range of minus 40 to 150 degrees C and 2.5 percent TEB over the device’s entire operating range. Offering stable performance over the product’s lifetime, the BPS130 sensor is capable of operation throughout a broad pressure range of 15 to 500 psi.

The Bourns BPS family also includes the highly accurate, low-power BPS230 humidity sensors. Featuring ±3 percent relative humidity accuracy over the calibrated temperature range of minus 30 to 100 degrees C, the precision devices offer low current consumption of 13 µA (typ.) for use in battery-supported applications. The BPS230 sensors are housed in a minuscule 2.0 × 2.0 × 0.75 mm package, making them a useful choice for consumer products and medical monitoring equipment.
