Nuvoton Technology joins the Amazon Web Services Partner Network

Nuvoton Technology is proud of joining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN) as a Select Technology Partner. In order to fulfill the multi-segment requirement of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, Nuvoton provides IoT platform reference designs targeted on IoT node devices and IoT gateways that combine the microcontroller or microprocessor, Amazon FreeRTOS, the full-function and security-enhanced communication stacks, connectivity, sensors, and example codes to easily connect to cloud services. As an APN Select Technology Partner, Nuvoton Technology provides hardware, connectivity services, or software solutions that are either hosted on or integrated with AWS.

Nuvoton provides the following IoT development platforms:

  • IoT node devices

NuMaker-IoT-M263A platform is suitable for IoT product development and NuMaker-PFM-M2351 platform is suitable for developing secure IoT devices.

The NuMaker-IoT-M263A platform integrates popular wireless communication modules including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LoRa function. To achieve 3G/ 4G/ NB-IoT connectivity functions, this platform supports external modules such as QUECTEL EC21/ BG96 modules. Besides, it integrates environmental sensors and a 9-axis sensor for acceleration, geo-magnetics, gas, barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity sensing.

The NuMaker-PFM-M2351 platform is based on the NuMicro M2351 IoT secure microcontroller featuring TrustZone for Armv8-M architecture that elevates the traditional firmware security to the new level of robust hardware security. The M2351 series features operating frequency up to 64 MHz, 512 Kbytes embedded flash memory in dual bank mode supporting secure Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware update, and 96 Kbytes embedded SRAM. The NuMaker-PFM-M2351 is great for developing secure IoT devices.

  • IoT gateway

NuMaker-NUC980-IIoT is suitable for industrial IoT gateway and NuMaker-IoT-M487 is suitable for lightweight IoT gateway.

The NuMaker-NUC980-IIoT platform is empowered by Nuvoton Arm9 microprocessor with up to 300 MHz operating frequency, up to 128 Mbytes DDR memory, and Ethernet port. It provides embedded Linux OS supporting related IoT protocols. This platform is suitable for industrial automation control, meter concentrator, etc.

The NuMaker-IoT-M487 platform provides built-in Ethernet and Wi-Fi modules. With the built-in encryption and decryption accelerator provided by the NuMicro M487 series microcontroller, it enhances the security performance of network connections on connecting to cloud services. In addition to lightweight IoT gateways, it is also suitable for developing smart home appliances and Serial-to-Ethernet converters. The NuMaker-IoT-M487 is Amazon FreeRTOS-qualified for secure connection to AWS IoT Greengrass edge devices or AWS cloud services such as AWS IoT Core.
