Data center virtualization gaining momentum in India

    1. Tell us about Citrix’s input in reference to Digital India and Make in India initiative.

The Indian Government is making strides in integrating technology in our day to day operations. With the government’s scope of work implying management of massive scale of sensitive data, automation of their workspace is a natural progression. Citrix has aligned with the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) to provide mobile workspace and virtualization solutions. Citrix Desktop Virtualization and Enterprise Mobility solutions will enable the government to deliver its services to the citizens and stakeholders in a centralized and secure manner.

    1. What are the USPs of Citrix’s services?
    • Mobile Productivity

Every organization’s business requirements are specific to their operations and the growth prospects they intend on scaling. Citrix allows its users to customize their IT infrastructure layers such that the overall productivity ad business mobility is enhanced without compromising on security.

    • Security and Compliance

App and desktop virtualization at its core allows for centralization of IT, empowering the organizations to micro to manage desktop security and risk. This has led to enablement of full visibility and control and also presents the opportunity of easily defining and enforcing policies that determine which resources specific users or groups can access.

    • Reduced IT costs

Manually managing endpoint devices is costly. With XenApp and XenDesktop, apps and desktops are centrally managed and made accessible. Its implementation can help cost savings because the organization doesn’t have to physically manage endpoint devices and send valuable IT resources anywhere if a user has a problem.

    1. Please tell us about how essential secure delivery of apps and data is?

Mobility has given people the freedom to work anywhere, at any time—but it its own set of challenges. Instead of relying solely on Windows applications running on Windows-based devices, people now use native mobile and web apps for work as well, and they need access to all of these types of apps on any type of device, from Windows and Mac laptops to tablets and smartphones.
