Data center virtualization gaining momentum in India

    1. Please share with the readers about your collaboration with Microsoft.

Citrix and Microsoft unveiled an expansion of their strategic partnership at Citrix Synergy 2016 earlier this year. The partnership is focused on meeting the needs of the modern workforce with application and desktop virtualization in the cloud, network delivery, and enterprise mobility management. This partnership was undertaken to empower joint customers to capitalize on the convergence of cloud, mobile and big data and drive digital transformation in their organizations. In addition, we are working together with Microsoft on new integrations between Citrix XenMobile, NetScaler and the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS), based on customer demand.

Our customers’ response to this partnership has been positive, which will help them fully leverage innovations like Windows 10, Office 365 and Azure. The partnership ensures we can be agiler in responding to our customers’ needs and help them accelerate the move to digital business.

    1. Please elaborate into the Enterprise file sync and sharing (EFSS) service built for mobile, users by Citrix.

Trends such as employee mobility, work shifting, and BYO devices are putting pressure on IT, along with the business need to leverage existing investments, protect corporate data and intellectual property and meet regulatory compliance requirements. To add to these complexities, there are growing global and dispersed workforces, the need to collaborate and securely share data with other employees, third parties, customers, and partners.  All these factors coupled together lead to employees increasingly turning to unsecured and unauthorized personal online file sharing accounts for access to corporate data and files across all of their devices.

Personal online file sharing usage in the workplace creates serious risks for the enterprise with potential data loss, violation of regulatory rules, and places data outside of IT control. To combat this, Citrix ShareFile, a secure data sync and sharing service with flexible storage options allows IT to protect and mobilize all enterprise data. ShareFile enables mobile productivity with read-write access to data, workflows, and collaboration, allows users to securely share files with anyone, and sync files across all of their devices. ShareFile can also be fully integrated with existing security infrastructure and polices.

    1. What are the prospects of present and future growth opportunities in India- SMBs?

SMBs due to their finite expanse and bandwidth prefer to have a dedicated IT professional who manages everything. From the smallest glitch to the biggest of the breach. However, as a natural progression, shifting to a digitally supported workspace is inevitable. Apart from the lack of funds to uphold such a construct, there are no other apparent challenges as long as the business requires it. Digital Workspace not only provides efficiency but also reduces the amount of human time and effort that goes into solving issues.

    1. How is the company planning to take forward the business?

Citrix has been able to establish itself as a leading technology provider in India because of its strong channel and partner relationships. We are predominantly a channel-driven organization and by helping us reach a wider range of customers across the country, they add great value to our ecosystem. Hence, we focus heavily on maintaining and retaining our alliances and also have implemented a few programs to drive benefits to our partners.

We recently announced an update to our incentive program for partners to boost growth and opportunities in the mid-market segment and also have introduced a new Strategic Development Fund for Citrix Solution Advisors (CSAs) and distributors.
