How robotics may enable an automated future for intelligent manufacturing industry

Recognised as one of the most important trade shows for industrial automation in South China, SIAF will return to the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou from 10 – 12 March 2019. The three-day event will gather industry elites to share their vision and forecasts for the future of robotics, which will become smarter, more agile and more responsive.

Industrial robotics is a powerful force in the realisation of intelligent manufacturing thanks to the significant number of tasks that can be performed throughout the production process, such as arc welding, spot welding, sealing, cutting, handling, palletising and painting. Robotics manufacturers and providers of integrated robotic technologies are gearing up to offer a full-spectrum of robotics solutions across the automotive, electronic, food packaging and new energy sectors.

At the 2019 edition, Hall 2.1 will be dedicated to showcasing robotics and smart devices by housing some of the industry’s most renowned brands. More than 150 specialists in robotics and related supporting technologies have confirmed their presence at the show and will feature across 10,000 sqm of exhibition space. Prominent exhibitors confirmed include EiNUO, Erteng, Helukabel, Logen, Maker-Ray, MegaRobo, Nexans, Peitian, SPRrobot, Soft Robot, Taiyo Cable, Toyo Automation, Vinko, W-Robot and YASKAWA. An impressive array of robotics technologies for automotives, electrical appliances and ceramics, as well as mechanical engineering, mining, metallurgy and logistics will also be on show.

Crucial accessories for robotics will also be prominent at the 2019 fair to provide diversified sourcing options. ATI Industrial Automation, the leading developer of robotic accessories and robot arm tooling, will present ways to improve productivity with cost-effective solutions.

The rise of robotics fosters advances in related supporting technologies and accessories

Thanks to the burgeoning development of robotics, related supporting technologies including pneumatic components, motion control, drive systems, robotic arms, cables and connection devices also benefit from these technological breakthroughs. In particular, pneumatic components are experiencing significant growth as they are the prerequisite for industrial robots to perform functions such as grabbing and rotating.

A loyal exhibitor dedicated to the development of pneumatic components, SMC has more than a 60% market share in Japan and will return to the 2019 edition to showcase their latest offerings. One of the company’s most intriguing features to interest fairgoers are the remote control technologies that make the operation of pneumatic components more agile and responsive. SIAF 2019 will also feature other well-known brands specialising in pneumatic components including AirTAC, Chelic, EMC, Huoban and Mindman.

In addition, Hall 4.1 will present the application of robotics accessories with a focus on motion control and drive systems. Han’s Motion, Harmonic, Nabtesco, Smartwin, WanXin and Wittenstein will unveil an innovative array of products that offer efficient fixes for manufacturing setbacks.

Fringe programme to highlight topics on robotics applications

A diverse array of fringe events with a spotlight on robotics applications promises to be a rewarding experience for fairgoers. Highlights include a talk from Soft Robot Technology that will impart ideas on robotics in the food and beverage, pharmacy, medicine and logistics sectors. ATI Industrial Automation will also deliver a presentation on how to achieve a higher production efficiency with the use of their Automatic Tool Changers and Multi-Axis Force / Torque Sensing Systems.
