Mouser Stocks Silicon Labs’ Ultra-Small BGM12x SiP Modules

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking BGM12x Blue Gecko system-in-package (SiP) modules from Silicon Labs. Based on Silicon Labs’ Blue Gecko wireless system-on-chip (SoC), the BGM12x is the industry’s smallest Bluetooth low energy SiP module with a built-in chip antenna, offering a complete, cost-effective connectivity solution.

Silicon Labs’ BGM121 and BGM123 Blue Gecko SiP modules, available from Mouser Electronics, provide an all-in-one Bluetooth connectivity solution featuring an ARM Cortex-M4 processor with 256 kBytes of flash, high-output Bluetooth power amplifier, high-efficiency onboard antenna, external antenna options, oscillators and passives, along with a reliable, secure Bluetooth 4.2 stack. Available in a tiny 6.5 mm × 6.5 mm package, the BGM12x Blue Gecko SiP module enables developers to miniaturize Internet of Things (IoT) designs by minimizing the PCB footprint, including an antenna clearance of just 51 mm2. The modules are available with different transmit output power options, from 3 dBm (BGM123) to 8 dBm (BGM121), to support connected device applications with varying range requirements, and are pre-certified for use in many key global markets, which helps to minimize development costs and radio frequency (RF) regulatory compliance efforts for developers.

The modules are supported by the Blue Gecko Bluetooth Smart Module Wireless Starter Kit for BGM121 and BGM123 SiP modules and BGM111. The kit comes with the Bluetooth Smart module radio board, a main board with coin-cell battery holder, USB and Ethernet connections, display, connections to all the module’s peripheral interfaces, and an extension board with additional peripherals. The wireless starter kit offers an easy and fast way to start evaluating and developing Bluetooth Smart applications with the BGM12x SiP modules, such as sports and fitness wearables, smartwatches, personal medical devices, wireless sensor nodes, and other space-constrained connected devices.
