Multi – topology DC-DC Converters Provide Boost/SEPIC/Inverter Configuration Options

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking Power by Linear LT8361 current-mode, multi-topology DC/DC converters from Analog Devices. The versatile 2 MHz devices can be configured as boost, single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC), or inverting converters, and feature a wide input voltage range of 2.8V to 60V. The converters include a 2 A, 100 V power switch, enabling them to deliver operational efficiencies up to 95 percent in automotive, industrial, telecom, and medical applications.

The Analog Devices LT8361 DC-DC converters, available from Mouser Electronics, feature a programmable frequency from 300 kHz to 2 MHz, allowing designers to avoid critical frequency bands and minimize external component sizes. The devices offer Burst Mode operation, maintaining high efficiency at low output currents while consuming as little as 9 µA quiescent current. Spread spectrum frequency modulation delivers reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI), while a single feedback pin sets the output voltage for either positive or negative to reduce pin count.

The compact LT8361 converters are available in industrial (minus 40 to 125 degrees C) and high-temperature (minus 40 to 150 degrees C) versions, housed in a thermally enhanced, 16-lead MSOP package with four pins removed for high-voltage spacing. The feature-rich LT8361 converters also offer programmable undervoltage lockout, frequency foldback, external synchronization, programmable soft-start, and a BIAS pin for increased efficiency.
