Next generation Digi EX15 introduced to enterprise Cellular Extenders

Digi International, a leading global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity products and services, announced the availability of the Digi EX15 cellular extender. The Digi EX15 can be used for primary or backup LTE connectivity at LTE-Advanced Pro (CAT11) speeds and is designed for quick installations and remote management through either Digi aView or Digi Remote Manager.

Retail stores, branch offices, c-stores and quick service restaurants increasingly rely on fast and affordable broadband access. The Digi EX15 is an affordable LTE cellular solution to protect businesses from network disruptions, so they can mitigate the risk of lost revenue and damaged reputation if their primary broadband connection fails. As a reliable, scalable business continuity failover solution, and, with CAT11 support, it can support even high-bandwidth applications including video streaming and internet-connected security cameras. In addition to business continuity the EX15 can be used for primary connectivity for kiosks, ATMs and digital signage, or for temporary bandwidth for seasonal pop-up stores.

Powered by a suite of upgradeable CORE Plug-In LTE modems featuring dual SIM cards and Carrier Smart Select to automatically switch between carriers, the Digi EX15 takes a modular approach to connectivity. This mitigates technological obsolescence, allows users to select the modem that best fits their needs and creates the ability to upgrade devices rather than completely replacing them. Digi’s North American and European certified modules include support for LTE (CAT3, CAT4), LTE-Advanced (CAT6) and, in May, LTE-Advanced Pro (CAT11).

Digi EX15 cellular extenders are ideal for large deployments and ship with everything needed for rapid installation. The Site Survey Battery quickly identifies the optimal mounting location for strongest cellular signal and the Remote Mounting Kit allows installation of the device to dry wall, drop ceilings, unfinished open ceilings or glass so users do not have to compromise effectiveness.

Beyond this fast, reliable cellular connectivity, the Digi EX15 has built-in Digi TrustFence security framework and simple device management, configuration and control with Digi Remote Manager or Digi aView.

“Network uptime is critical to business success and reputation,” said Scott Nelson, vice president of product, Digi International. “With the Digi EX15, we’re helping businesses protect themselves from broadband network outages at LTE-Advanced Pro speeds that can match the speed of the primary broadband connectivity.”
