Popular SRAMs get Sustained Support beyond EOL

Alliance Memory announced that it is collaborating with Cypress Semiconductor Corporation to help ensure ongoing availability of some of the CY62256 series devices for which Cypress issued a product discontinuation notification with a last-time buy date of July 4, 2018. Pursuant to an arrangement between the companies, Alliance Memory will offer the popular devices with their original Cypress part numbers into 2019.

“Cypress is working with Alliance Memory to minimize the impact of the EOL for this widely used 32k x 8 SRAM,” said Sidharth PK, marketing director for Cypress’ random access memory business unit. “We are pleased that Alliance Memory is prepared to continue to support our customers for this device with minimal interruptions.”

“By continuing to offer the CY62256 devices with their original part numbers, we can help ensure that Cypress customers for these devices will continue to be supported after the LTB date and into 2019,” said David Bagby, president and CEO of Alliance Memory.
