Voltage regulation strengthened by DC converters

Twenty-five models join Vicor’s family of DC/DC converter modules (DCMs), delivering tighter output voltage regulation of ±1%. These latest additions also boast power densities of 1032 W/in.3 to drive loads with minimal additional circuitry or downstream components.

Based on the company’s Converter housed in Package (ChiP) technology, the DCM ChiP family operates from an unregulated, wide range input to generate an isolated, regulated DC output. With its high-frequency zero-voltage switching topology, the DCM converter delivers high efficiency across its entire input voltage range. They can be used in both defense and industrial applications, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, ground vehicle radar, transportation, and industrial controls.

    Converters with enhanced output voltage regulation are housed in 3623 (1.5×0.8×0.2-in.) and 4623 (1.8×0.8×0.2 in.) ChiPs and provide a choice of output voltages: 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, 15 V, 24 V, 28 V, 36 V, and 48 V. Power output ranges from 80 W to 500 W. In addition, the DCM parts are available in two temperature grades: -40°C to +125°C (T grade) and -55°C to +125°C (M grade).

Prices for the T-grade DCM ChiPs start at $90.81 each in lots of 500 units.
