YouTube adds custom blurring tool for videos

Social networking site YouTube has added a new tool which will enable it’s users to directly blur moving objects in a video without following the complicated process of removing, editing and uploading again.
YouTube introduced the face blurring feature in 2012 and is now improving it further. The custom blurring feature can blur any moving object in a video and saves the user from the hassle re-shooting the video. Users just need to go to Enhancement tool and select the Custom Blurring option given under the Blurring Effect tab. Once the tool is selected, then the users have to draw a box around that item and blur and resize the area.
The custom blurring tool will automatically blur the selected object as it moves throughout the video. There is also a ‘Lock’ option, which can be used to blur a still object. Once the editing is finished then the user can save the video in its original format.
In its official blog post, Amanda Conway, YouTube privacy lead, said, “While the use cases for this tool are vast, we built this feature with visual anonymity in mind. We wanted to give you a simple way to blur things like people, contact information or financial data without having to remove and re-upload your content. We hope this new tool helps you to tell your stories on YouTube, and continue to experiment with your creativity and expression. We have no doubt you will.”
