Stocking all new Murata IoT solutions for NXP and Embedded artists

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader empowering innovation, is stocking the comprehensive new Murata IoT Solutions for NXP i.MX Eval Platforms and Embedded Artists i.MX Platforms, available for same-day shipment.

A collaboration of Murata, Cypress Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, and Embedded Artists, the products provide Internet of Things (IoT) developers with mix-and-match wireless connectivity and processing solutions that shorten the time-to-market cycle for products ranging from battery-powered IoT devices to industrial equipment and subsystems for connected cars.

Murata has partnered with Embedded Artists to integrate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth into existing NXP and Embedded Artists i.MX development kits. The i.MX platforms, based on Arm Cortex cores, are designed to bridge the gap between the performance of applications processors and the flexible usability of microcontrollers without increasing costs or power consumption. The combined products pair Murata’s industry-leading wireless modules — based on Cypress’ robust Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combination devices — with a broad range of best-in-class processors from the NXP i.MX series.

The platform solutions give developers a broad range of scalable processing platforms including i.MX 6, i.MX 7 and i.MX 8 Series application processors and i.MX RT crossover processors. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity solutions from Cypress include 1×1 802.11bgn, 802.11abgn, 802.11ac, and 2×2 802.11ac, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 support.

For the NXP i.MX Platforms, the Murata uSD-M.2 Adapter connects to the microSD slot on the platform, which provides power and WLAN-SDIO. The Murata Adapter provides an M.2 connector, allowing application developers to connect the Embedded Artists Types 1DX, 1MW, 1LV, and 1CX M.2 EVBs, which provide IEEE 802.11/b/g/n and Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity.

Each hardware platform and corresponding software is validated for a streamlined experience to shorten the design cycle. With direct access to necessary software in NXP’s Linux board support package and MCUXpresso software development kit (SDK) plus Wi-Fi evaluation kits from NXP preferred partner Embedded Artists, the solutions support prototyping a diverse range of applications.
