Mouser Electronics is now stocking the new OB1203 sensor module from Renesas Electronics. Combining a biosensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and color sensor in an all-in-one solution, the OB1203 sensor module offers a highly integrated solution for mobile and wearable devices. The OB1203 module is suitable for applications including headphones, gesture detection, occupancy sensors, and fitness and wellness trackers.
The Renesas OB1203 sensor module, available from Mouser Electronics, provides non-invasive measurement of blood oxygen concentration, heart rate, and pulse oximetry. The module features an anti-allergenic glass covers, allowing it to be used in health applications requiring direct skin contact. Beyond wearable devices, the OB1203 sensor module is capable of determining the proximity of nearby objects by integrating light sources and drivers into a single optically optimized package. The device’s biosensor offers oxygen saturation (SpO2) measurement behind visibly dark IR transmissive ink, providing a useful solution for aesthetic industrial designs. The OB1203 sensor module is housed in a minuscule, optically enhanced 4.2 mm × 2 mm × 1.2 mm package.
The OB1203 module is supported by the OB1203SD evaluation kits, available in either a USB or Bluetooth® communication-enabled version. The USB version includes a USB communication board, USB stick with onboard graphical user interface (GUI), and a USB cable. The Bluetooth-enabled evaluation kit integrates a Bluetooth chip and removable battery.
