SESI Launches Online Certification Programs for Students to Become Green Ambassadors and Fostering Future Opportunities

Renewable Energy Education to Foster Sustainable Development and Create Future Opportunities

The Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), the Indian chapter of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), has announced the launch of two online certification programs – Junior Green Ambassador Certification and Senior Green Ambassador Certification. SESI offer Assessment and Certification Platform for National & International Programs. These programs aim to provide valuable certification for school and college students.

The Junior Green Ambassador Certification is open to students from 9th to 12th standards, aged 14 to 19 years, as well as anyone seeking basic knowledge on renewable energy sources and their applications. The Senior Green Ambassador Certification is available for diploma and undergraduate students from colleges and universities, aged 20 years and above, as well as academicians and working professionals of any age.

The interactive Modular Courseware, accessible through the online portal offers comprehensive chapter-wise lessons, including videos, texts, referral links, and chapter-wise tests with multiple attempts allowed. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of renewable energy sources and their applications through a 10-hour program. On successful completion, participants will receive certification as “Green Ambassadors” from SESI, along with a GREEN Score and GREEN Grade on a GPA scale of 5, featured on the downloadable certificate.

Prafulla Pathak, President, SESI, emphasised the significance of renewable energy education for students, stating, “the students of today need to study renewable energy because it will be a vital part of the world they inhabit. In learning about renewable energy, they will also develop concepts and skills that will help them succeed in school and in their chosen careers. Renewable energy is the future of employment, and harnessing solar power for educational institutions can provide practical and interactive learning experiences for students, preparing them for future possibilities.

Benefits for students enrolled in these courses include PAN India Green Grading and Scoring, a new avenue for extracurricular activities, fundamental knowledge enhancement, improved academic performance, broader social skills with the futuristic field of studies, and preparation for future solar entrepreneurship.
