    500W DC/DC for Off-Highway E-mobility Applications

RECOM has published the launch of their cost-effective RMOD500-W range of compact, plug-and-play DC/DC converters for off-highway E-mobility applications. Delivering 500W output, the fully-enclosed, chassis-mounted parts are available with IP67 rating and feature an input range of 32-96V, suitable for nominal 48V, 60V, 72V and 80V battery supplies. Outputs available are 13.7V, 13V, 12.4V, 11.7V, 24.5V and 23.5V, and parts may be paralleled for a higher power. The certified isolation rating is 2.25kVDC and the ambient operating temperature range is from -40°C to +90°C.

Comprehensive protection is featured including input under-voltage and reverse polarity, over-temperature and output over-current and over-voltage. Parts have been fully qualified for EMC, shock/vibration, thermal shock/temperature cycling, salt mist, water/dust ingress and safety.

The RMOD500-W is sized 198 x 113 x 45mm including connectors and is designed for baseplate cooling. Thanks to the water- and dust-proofing, including connectors, the product can be fitted in any unprotected area of a vehicle.

“With the move to ‘greener’ transport solutions, this new series of E-mobility DC/DCs is ideal for many applications,” quotes Marco Kuhn of RECOM. “The products can be used to generate an isolated power rail for auxiliary functions in electric vehicles in application areas such as material handling, construction, sports venues, and in the industry generally.”

Samples and OEM pricing of the RMOD range are available directly from RECOM.
