Embedded emWin GUI Software with Secure Boot Function

Nuvoton Technology Corporation and SEGGER co-announced that licensed embedded emWin GUI library is now available for developers using Nuvoton’s microcontrollers (MCU). Product developers can now add more value to their end products by utilizing the convenient tool to develop smooth, high-quality Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) quickly and efficiently.

The emWin GUI builder and related utilities help developers to create the user interface easily in Windows with drag-and-drop operations using the supported UI widgets for the placement and layout. It can also generate the corresponding C source code after UI design is finished. Nuvoton Technology stated that emWin can assist designers to complete a professional interface within one day to few days.

Nuvoton provides complete HMI solutions which are further enhanced by the emWin software, supporting resolution up to 1024×768 pixels. The N9H series with ARM926EJ-S core can operate at up to 300 MHz and can drive up to 1024×768 pixels in parallel port. It integrated TFT LCD controller and 2D graphics accelerator, up to 16 million colors (24-bit) LCD screen output, and provides high resolution and high chroma to deliver gorgeous display effects. To play compressed video in HMI screens smoothly, the N9H series is equipped with H.264 video decompression engine. It also offers built-in voice decoder, which can streamline the peripheral circuits of HMI applications with sound playback. It embedded up to 32 MB DDRII SDRAM, along with ample hardware storage and computing space for excellent design flexibility.

In addition to Arm9 microprocessor (MPU) HMI solutions, Nuvoton also offers Arm Cortex-M0/M4 core based NuMicro MCU solutions. The NuMicro M4 MCUs operates at up to 200 MHz and supports high-speed SPI interface to connect to external SPI Flash, allowing fast read-out of user HMI displays and image storage up to 32 MB. The NuMicro M0 MCUs includes built-in SPI or I²C hardware interface, which can be connected to OLED or TFT LCD display modules to quickly display monochrome or color graphic elements, making for designers to design and operate.
