Mouser Electronics Signs Global Agreement with Virtium

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the authorized global distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, announces a global distribution agreement with Virtium, a leading provider of solid-state drive (SSD) and memory solutions in the industrial embedded market. The Virtium portfolio, now available from Mouser Electronics, includes the industry-leading StorFly and TuffDrive SSDs, memory modules and other industrial embedded solutions.

Virtium’s StorFly and TuffDrive SSDs are made for extreme conditions in industrial embedded applications, offering models with an available industrial temperature range of minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The SSDs include vtGuard technology for added power-fail protection against data loss, which can be accessed by Virtium’s vtView software. Additionally, Virtium’s built-in vtSecure provides data protection options including Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs). Virtium’s SSDs carry three- or five-year warranties.

StorFly SATA and PCIe solid-state storage solutions are ideal for heavy-duty industrial embedded applications that include boot drives, data logging, caching and backup. StorFly 18 is a 1.8” SATA SSD that offers an excellent replacement for hard-to-find 1.8” HDDs, while StorFly 25 is a cost-effective 2.5” SATA SSD replacement for 2.5” HDDs. StorFly Slim SATA SSD is ideal for networking, embedded, and AdvancedTCA (ATCA) applications that implement a standard SATA 3Gbps socket.

For applications that require high performance in a small form factor, StorFly mSATA SSDs offer a superior solution for system designs that implement SATA connectivity over the widely used PCIe miniCard socket. StorFly M.2 and PCIe SSDs also offer high performance in a small form factor, requiring less power and generating less heat, which helps improve device reliability in systems where airflow is minimal. Virtium’s CFast SATA SSDs, feature the same footprint as a CompactFlash device but offer a plug-in SATA interface.

Virtium’s TuffDrive SSDs include eUSB embedded USB SSDs, which are designed for applications that require a modest amount of storage and use chipsets that may not have an integrated SATA interface. The TuffDrive P25 PATA SSDs are rugged, high-performance alternatives to hard-to-find legacy PATA hard drives. The TuffDrive CompactFlash cards are ideal rugged storage solutions for a variety of embedded systems ranging from point-of-sale terminals to networking equipment and industrial automation.

Virtium’s industrial embedded solutions can cover a multitude of machine-to-machine designs, networking, medical and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) applications.
