Brand new sensor delivers reliable performance in harsh environments

Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the Sentrius BT510 sensor from Laird Connectivity. The compact, battery-powered, multi-sensor platform provides reliable Bluetooth 5 long-range connectivity, making it an ideal solution for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The Sentrius BT510 sensor, available from Mouser Electronics, is a multi-sensor platform that combines temperature, open/closed, motion, and impact sensing with Bluetooth 5 capabilities such as long-range (Coded PHY), security and Bluetooth Low Energy beaconing. The module integrates the field-proven long-range Laird Connectivity BL654 Series module with the Nordic nRF52840 system-on-chip (SoC), which deliver advanced processing capability, enabling feature-rich application development with 1 Mbyte of flash memory.

The ultra-low-power Sentrius BT510 sensor is powered by a replaceable CR2477 coin cell battery, enabling multi-year performance with simple, intuitive maintenance. The versatile sensor is future proof, capable of receiving Over the Air (OTA) updates from a supported mobile application or, in the coming months, through cloud deployment using Laird Connectivity’s Sentrius IG60 IoT gateway integrated support.

The Sentrius BT510 sensor is ready-to-use in just minutes and features extensive worldwide approvals, including FCC, IC, CE, MIC, RCM, and Bluetooth SIG. Housed in a rugged IP67-certified enclosure with an easy-to-use twist/lock design, the device enables field use in harsh environments and in applications such as environment monitoring, industrial heating and cooling, food safety monitoring, and cold chain management.
