Latest high-performance electromagnetic solutions for various applications to be showcased at APEC 2019

TT Electronics, a global provider of engineered electronics for performance critical applications, will exhibit and deliver a technical presentation at APEC 2019, which will take place March 17–21 in Anaheim, California.

Widely recognized as the premier annual event in applied power electronics, APEC offers attendees insight into the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics industry. This year’s five-day conference will consist of multiple plenary, technical, and industry sessions, exhibitor seminars, and more, in addition to approximately 300 exhibitors, who will showcase a wide range of power electronics solutions, including assemblies, integrated circuits (ICs), magnetics, passive components, power converters, semiconductors, software and services, and test and measurement.

TT Electronics’ exhibition at Booth #532 will highlight the latest high-performance electromagnetic solutions for industrial, aerospace and defense, transportation, and medical applications. Experts from the company, including Field Application Engineer – Resistors, Mike Torres, and Business Development Manager, Scott Cameron, will be onsite to introduce attendees to the features and benefits of new products and capabilities, including:

  • GHVC Green High-Voltage Chip Resistors – the industry’s first fully lead-free, thick-film, high-voltage chip resistors that allow manufacturers to future-proof medical and industrial equipment designs by eliminating reliance on RoHS exemptions. The new resistors meet the industry’s growing demand for compact, high-voltage sensing and protection in equipment such as power supplies, circuit breakers, and medical monitors. The series comprises E24 and E96 resistance values from 25kΩ to 100MΩ, in standard EIA 1206, 2010, and 2512 chips with power ratings of 0.3W, 0.5W and 1.0W, respectively. The resistors are extremely rugged, with 1.2/50μs surge-voltage rating of 7kV and ambient operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
  • HA74 Series Surface-Mount Power Inductors – AEC-Q200-certified high-power components that combine a low profile, small footprint, and 3MHz switching capability for efficient, space-saving DC/DC converters. With operating temperatures from -55°C to 155°C, the HA74 series is ideal for automotive applications, including the latest generation of high-density converters and pi filters for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) controllers. Leveraging the compact 5.5mm x 5.5mm footprint, with current ratings up to 2.9A and DC resistance down to 74mΩ, the HA74 series enables high power density and energy efficiency. With 3MHz switching capability, allowing use in high-frequency converter designs, these compact inductors are the ideal companion to the small high-frequency filter capacitors and help minimize module size and weight.
  • Ultra-Fine Wire Winding – a patented technology and industry-leading expertise that sets TT Electronics apart from competitors in the field. The company’s capabilities include winding wire as small as 58 gauge (.0004mm diameter or 1/10 the size of a human hair) using precious (gold, silver and platinum) as well as more traditional copper wire.

“APEC is the industry-leading event for applied power electronics, and we are proud to have the opportunity to exhibit for the third consecutive year, and to present for the second year in a row,” said David Kertes, VP of Sales/Marketing, TT Electronics. “In addition, we look forward to showcasing our latest high-performing electromagnetic solutions designed for use in industrial, aerospace and defense, transportation, and medical applications.”
