Microchip Technology’s AVR64EA 8-Bit AVR Microcontrollers for Industrial and Automotive Applications

Mouser Electronics, shipping the AVR64EA 8-Bit AVR microcontrollers from Microchip Technology. The AVR64EA microcontrollers (MCUs) provide engineers with high-speed, low power, integrated, analog and hardware-based core independent peripherals (CIPs), for a wide range of real-time control, sensor node and secondary safety monitoring, for industrial, consumer, and automotive applications.

The AVR64EA microcontrollers, available at Mouser Electronics, are equipped with an AVR CPU with hardware multiplier, running at clock speeds up to 20MHz. These devices offer 64KB of Flash, 6KB of SRAM, and 512bytes of EEPROM, and feature a 12-bit differential analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with up to 16x gain. The AVR64EA 8-Bit AVR Microcontroller enables measurement of smaller amplitude signals, reclaims signals from noisy environme nts and performs fast conversions for quick and accurate signal measurement in harsh environments, all with low-power efficiency.

The AVR64EA microcontrollers feature an accurate and temperature-stable internal 20 MHz RC oscillator, configurable custom logic (CCL) event system and CIPs, to significantly reduce the need for external components. The devices are offered in SPDIP, SSOP, TQFP and VQFN packages ranging from 28 to 48 pins, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C ambient.

The AVR64EA 8-Bit AVR MCU is supported by the Microchip Technology AVR64EA48  Curiosity Nano evaluation kit (EV66E56A), available to order at Mouser. The AVR64EA48 Curiosity Nano evaluation kit includes a pre-mounted AVR64EA48 microcontroller. Supported by both MPLAB XIntegrated Development Environment (IDE) and Microchip Studio, the board provides easy access to the features of the AVR64EA48 to explore how to integrate the device into a custom design. The Curiosity Nano series of evaluation boards include an on-board debugger. No external tools are necessary to program and debug the AVR64EA48.
