Rohde & Schwarz to Showcase Satellite Testing and RF Monitoring Solutions at Space Tech Expo Europe 2026

Europe’s satellite industry is growing, with programmes such as IRIS² and SATCOMBw increasing the need for secure and reliable satellite communication systems. At Space Tech Expo Europe 2026, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase test and measurement equipment, RF monitoring solutions and production automation technologies designed for modern satellite systems. These solutions aim to simplify satellite testing, improve radio frequency (RF) performance and make satellite operations more efficient. The company will exhibit at the bavAIRia joint stand in Hall 5, Stand H47, in Bremen, Germany, from 17 to 19 November 2026.

The demonstrations will focus on key challenges in satellite development, including increasingly complex systems, rising costs and shorter development timelines. The growing use of non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) is also driving demand for advanced satellite technologies. These networks use satellites in different orbits to work alongside ground-based communication networks, extending connectivity to remote and underserved areas. Reliable testing, secure monitoring and efficient manufacturing are therefore important for developing and operating Europe’s independent satellite infrastructure.

For high-throughput satellite component testing up to 54 GHz, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate the R&S ZNB3032 vector network analyser. Designed for high-volume RF manufacturing, it combines fast, stable measurements with flexible upgrade options for changing test requirements.

For ground station installation, operation and maintenance, Rohde & Schwarz will present portable handheld spectrum and network analysers, including the one-port R&S Cable Rider ZPH. Rugged and compact, they support impedance and distance-to-fault measurements on transmission lines, spectrum analysis and precise power measurements.

Another exhibit combines the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and FSW signal and spectrum analyser with Ansys Systems Tool Kit for advanced satellite channel emulation. The setup emulates dynamic LEO satellite channels in real time, including Doppler shift, path loss and varying link conditions. Engineers can analyse next-generation satellite communication systems under realistic pre-deployment conditions, gaining better insight into link behaviour and shortening validation cycles.

Rohde & Schwarz will also show satellite component and payload testing in the E-band with 8 GHz wide satellite signals. The setup is featuring the R&S SFI100A wideband IF vector signal generator with R&S FE110ST/SR frontends and the new FSWX. Designed for the demands of next-generation broadband satellite systems, this solution delivers the precision, performance and insight needed to validate advanced satellite components and payloads with confidence.

The company will also address signal and power integrity with oscilloscopes such as the R&S RTO6, R&S RTH and R&S MXO 38. The instruments support early analysis of digital interfaces such as MIL STD 1553A, Space Wire, Space CAN, Ethernet, I²C, RS 422 and JESD204C. These measurements help detect interface and signal integrity issues early before they lead to failures in space, where repair is usually impossible.

Furthermore, Rohde & Schwarz shows the R&S SATCOM Link Observer for continuous link quality monitoring of satellite communications. It combines classic spectrum analyzer functions, 24/7 trapping systems, advanced signal detection, signal analysis and classification in one system. The system provides real time network visibility, automatic error detection and remote spectrum monitoring. Operators can maintain quality of service and interference-free links while reducing personnel for manual monitoring.

Rohde & Schwarz will also present an antenna combiner for improved signal quality in challenging reception conditions. It is designed for challenging conditions, such as situations where a 7-meter dish is not available. By combining signals from up to four smaller antennas, it improves the signal-to-noise ratio and increases deployment flexibility.

Beyond test and monitoring solutions, Rohde & Schwarz will present its electronic manufacturing services. These services help space-industry customers meet stringent quality requirements, achieve high production yields and outsource component manufacturing where needed.
