HARTING Connectors Offers Ease in Miniaturisation and Custom Fitting in Devices

Device manufacturers for the industrial sector have been following the trend for miniaturisation for a long time now, reducing the size of their products more and more. In order for this to be successful, all system components need to get smaller and smaller, too. Observing this trend, HARTING can now offer users the kind of miniaturised connection technology they need – in the form of the new DIN 41612 3Q/3R types female connectors.

With the new DIN 41612 3Q/3R types female connectors, HARTING provides device manufacturers with the right kind of connection technology for successful miniaturisation. The new types are only a third of the size of a regular DIN connector, reducing the space required for small-scale applications. They are available with or without a fastening clip and are particularly designed for connecting two circuit boards located perpendicular to or alongside each other. 3B, 3C, 3Q and 3R type plugs are also available to fit.

Through Hole Reflow (THR) and wave soldering technology can be used for connecting to the circuit board. The 20 or 30 contacts with compact 2.54mm spacing can each take up to 2A, making this a small but nevertheless robust and powerful solution.

The versions made of a high-temperature material (THR) are particularly suitable for use with the reflow soldering method. These new connectors are just as robust as their full and half width “big sisters”, providing the tried and tested reliability that many users appreciate in DIN 41612 connectors. HARTING also offers custom loaded options in addition to the standard versions.
