EPIC and IAESI are mutually motivated in cooperative activities

On 28 February, EPIC and IAESI are mutually motivated in cooperative activities involving technological and commercial advancement in the area of photonics. The partnership will encourage direct contact and cooperation between the consortiums and its members, exchange of information and contacts, identify partners for H2020 collaborative research projects, co-host visits of delegates of each consortium’s commercial trade missions and business events.

The signature of the MoU took place in conjunction with the EPIC Delegation to Israel where from 26 February till 1 March 25 EPIC members met with 40 Israeli companies. The event was a unique opportunity to experience Israel, learn about companies, and connect with Israeli decision makers and experts.

The Israel Association of Electronics & Software Industries is comprised of about 300 companies in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, semiconductors, medical devices, IT and software. This complements very well the interests of the 300 members of the European Photonics Industry Consortium, that encompass the entire value chain from photonics fields such as lighting, photovoltaic, photonics integrated circuits, optical components, lasers, sensors, imaging, displays, optic fiber and all other photonics related technologies. Israel is home to a dynamic and vibrant photonics industry. Several hundreds of photonics companies employ over 10.000 people.

Photonics companies in Israel are attractive. In the last 2 years, investments have been made in the following Israeli companies: Lumus , Innoviz , Deep Optics , Corephotonics , Optimal, Sckipio, … and the following numerous Israeli companies have been acquired in recent years: ACS Motions Control, Alma Lasers, Anobit, Broadlight, Cadent, CogniTens, Cyopyics, Kailight, Light Instruments, Lightech, Linx Computational, Mobile Access, Ophir Optronics, Pebble Interfaces, Primesense, Provigent, Radiancy, Red-C, Spectrum Dynamics, V-Gen, Zoran.
