Legrand Announces New Battery Backup System Designed for the Connected Smart Home

The Legrand Structured Wiring Enclosure UPS Keeps the Smart Home Connected and Electronics Protected During a Power Loss or Surge Event with Battery Backup

Legrand will debut a new battery backup system for the connected smart home in the Legrand | AV Booth 1506 at CEDIA Expo 2023, Sept. 7-9 in Denver. The Legrand Structured Wiring Enclosure UPS (UPS-SC600) features six surge-protected outlets with three outlets connected to a battery backup system, and comes in a small form factor to fit practically anywhere, even within a structured wiring enclosure.

“The electrical demand on the connected home has never been greater, requiring power solutions that will protect and backup home AV systems in the event of a power failure,” said Nyron Kahrim, UPS Product Manager, Legrand | AV. “The Legrand Structured Wiring Enclosure UPS helps integrators get ahead of this challenge with a compact, easy-to-install UPS. It offers the reliability, accessibility, and safety for handling the power complexities of today’s residential projects and gives homeowners peace of mind.”

The Legrand Structured Wiring Enclosure UPS features a small design that fits in structured wiring enclosures perfectly, as well as unique universal mounting studs that align to the mounting patterns of most common structured wiring enclosures, such as those available from On-Q. The three battery-backed outlets deliver a quick transfer time so users won’t notice any interruption in their AV system in the event of a power glitch. The UPS also includes an easily replaceable battery when the time comes to replace it. The USB port provides integrators with local set-up and management via the PowerMaster+ software. When used with the optional UPS-CIPCARD, integrators can enable network connectivity for remote management, notifications, and updates. In addition to an illuminated power button, the unit features LED lights to quickly determine battery status.
