Latest compact DC/DC Converters are suitable for cost sensitive applications, where board space is at premium

Rutronik, a leading global broad-line stocking distributor of a comprehensive range of electronic components, semiconductors, and products and technology solutions for IoT and embedded systems, has announced the availability of new REC15E-Z Series DC/DC converters from RECOM.

Comprising fully specified 15W devices with wide input voltage ranges, the new REC15E-Z Series converters increase flexibility by accepting several standard bus voltages. With a compact footprint (1”x1”), the converters are suitable for cost sensitive applications where board space is at a premium. Rated for 600 VDC isolation and output currents up to 4A, the new converters show high efficiency of up to 90% and low ripple/noise, with no minimum load.

The wide 4:1 input voltage ranges accept 9–36V or 18–75V to cover multiple supply options such as lead-acid or lithium batteries or 12/24/36/48V industrial bus voltages. The inputs are protected against transients up to 100V, and feature undervoltage lock out (UVLO) to protect batteries from being over-discharged. The single or dual outputs are continuously protected against short circuits and overload and can drive high-capacitive loads.

The REC15E-Z Series converters cover a wide temperature range from -40°C to +75°C without derating. The converters are fully certified to industrial EMC and safety standards, and come with a three-year warranty.
